Butterie on TV

Last week I exhibited Butterie at the Home & Housewares show in Chicago. This is a really, really big trade show. If you want to lose 10 pounds, work a trade show. You're on your feet all day and I'm so excited/anxious/nervous that I have zero appetite. That's just a side bonus. But the real exciting part of the trade show is all the people I get to meet. Shop owners, corporate buyers, media, industry affiliates (code for people who are trying to sell me something: displays, packaging, designing services, etc.). Well, long story short...one gal came by my booth.  She does a segment for WGN-TV in Chicago and she wanted to feature Butterie in her TV segment. How awesome...

Top 5 Reasons To Keep Butter on the Counter (and NOT in the fridge)

It’s easier to spread. There is nothing more frustrating than ripping your toast with a cold, hard stick of butter. It’s a wonderful thing having soft butter always ready when you need it. It tastes better.  As if butter wasn’t delicious enough already, the flavor is even more enhanced when it’s at room temperature. You use less. When butter is soft, it takes less to butter-up toast because you can get more surface area covered with soft butter. It’s healthier.  More than 20% of Americans use the fake, tub-style stuff because it’s easier to spread. These same folks don’t realize that pure, natural butter can always be just as easy to spread…just keep it on the counter! It melts instantly...

Naming Butterie

March-April, 2015 - So I had this amazing product but not name! That's right, I could not come up with a name for my newly improved butter dish. My biggest concern was simple, I did not want a gimmicky name! I wanted the name to start off with a "B" because the letter "B" is considered a powerful letter in the world of marketing. Another consideration was the URL for my product, as it needed to be available! Well, Butterie.com wasn’t available, but product names and URLS are like when you buy a house: you have your list, and when you find the perfect house you throw your list out the window! So I spent about a year trying to come...

Why I created Butterie: Messy Butter Dishes

Messy butter dishes. This is one problem Butterie fixes. Butter stays out, and it gets soft which is awesome, BUT….. the dish is always a mess. You cover your butter, and the lid always lands in the butter. Or the butter spreads on the plate, so the lid landing in butter is inevitable. Then the lid is messy and you don’t want to place it on your counter, so you flip the lid upside down. Then you can’t grab the lid to recover the butter without getting butter all over your hands. How has no one designed a flip top butter dish before??   It's Better with Butterie
